Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudan Gurung has resigned from his post. Gurung submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) on Wednesday after facing criticism from all quarters for his collusion with the controversial person.

After Gurung’s resignation, Prime Minister Shah will keep the Home Ministry with himself.

Sources close to the prime minister claim that the prime minister is not planning to appoint another person as the home minister. That is, Balendra Shah (Balen) will keep the Home Ministry with himself for the time being.

Likewise, preparations are underway to form a high-level probe committee to investigate into the issues raised about Sudan Gurung. The Prime Minister will keep the Home Ministry with himself until the investigation is completed. If found guilty, Gurung will be reinstated as the Home Minister, sources said.
