Kathmandu. The price of bananas has increased unnaturally due to the lack of supply compared to the demand in the market. After the government banned the import of Indian bananas, it has affected the market price.

Consumers are saying that the price of a dozen bananas has reached Rs 350 in the retail market. Some wholesale shops in Kuleshwor Fruit Market, which sell bananas in bulk after the arrival of bananas has started coming down.

‘The local products are not able to meet the demand. Some shops have to be closed due to lack of bananas. Dilip Raut, a fruit trader, said, “We are in trouble. It is difficult to meet the expenses. Bananas must come from India. ’
