Some farmers in the village have already sold their wheat so they suggest to start the procurement on time in the coming days. Another farmer, Ramesh Chaudhary, said that he has already sold wheat from the farm as he has to manage his children’s books. The farmers here sell their produce to manage their household expenses, seeds and fertilizers for the rainy season. He said that the government should do everything in the coming days to provide relief to the farmers.
The company has set a target to purchase 10,000 quintals of wheat from Kailali. The company plans to purchase a maximum of 70 quintals of wheat from farmers and up to 500 quintals of wheat from agro-cooperatives. In addition, cooperatives working for seed growth in the area have been purchasing wheat from farmers at more than the support price. The higher price has encouraged farmers to take up farming.
