Kathmandu. The Sudurpaschim Province government has allocated a budget of Rs 37.70 billion for the implementation of policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/ 84. Minister for Economic Affairs Bikram Singh Dhami presented the budget for the coming fiscal year 2083/84 in the meeting held at 11:45 pm on June 1 5.
Out of the sources of expenditure for the coming fiscal year, Rs 1.72 billion is estimated to be from internal revenue mobilization and Rs 10.24 billion will be received from the government’s revenue share.
Likewise, Rs 70 million is estimated to be received as federal royalty, Rs 906.33 million as financial equalization grant from the Government of Nepal, Rs 9.62 billion to be saved from current fiscal year appropriation, Rs 6.03 billion to be conditional grant, Rs 383.8 million as federal supplementary grant and Rs 527.6 million as special grant.
Minister Dhami has mentioned how much budget has been allocated for current and capital expenditure in the current budget. The government presented the budget for the coming fiscal year amidst the boycott by the opposition party members.
Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari said that the government has shown helplessness by not presenting the budget on time. After this, all the opposition lawmakers boycotted the meeting.
The budget for the coming fiscal year has been delayed due to lack of consensus among the provincial assembly members of the ruling party on budget distribution. The province had allocated a budget of Rs 33.47 billion for the current fiscal year.
