Kathmandu. New pay scales of government employees have been approved. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has approved the new salary scale of the government employees. 

In the budget of the current fiscal year, it was announced to increase the salary of government employees. As per the announcement, the Ministry of Finance had sent the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on July 20 for approval of new pay scales. 

Finally, the Prime Minister’s Office has approved the new pay scales of government employees.With this, the increased salary of government employees will be effective from July 1. 

According to the new pay scale, the Chief Secretary has the highest salary.Now, the chief secretary will get a salary of Rs 90,594. Similarly, the lowest salary will be Rs 28,984 for a first-level office assistant. 

Similarly, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) will get the salary of Rs 84,576 and the Inspector General of Nepal Police will get Rs 84,576. This is the new salary scale of the approved employee:
