Kathmandu. The government is preparing to make a law to put those who throw garbage in jail. The government has made this preparation through the ‘Waste Management Bill, 2083’ to amend the law related to waste management and .

The government has already tabled the bill in the federal parliament .

The bill proposes a fine ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 100,000 to Rs 100,000 depending on the nature of the offense and violation of the terms and conditions related to garbage management, such as throwing garbage indiscriminately, burning of garbage, mixing segregated garbage, obstructing waste management, vandalizing dustbins kept in public places or violating the terms and conditions of garbage management.

Similarly, a serious offence related to waste management can be imprisoned from 15 days to three months or both.

On the other hand, Garbage collection and any person who strikes or obstructs the immersion will be prosecuted by the government. The proposed bill is as follows:
