Kathmandu.The government has clarified that former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana was not arrested but taken to a safe place for security.Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel said this while responding to a question asked by media persons after the cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday.

Minister Pokharel claimed that this has been confirmed by the petition filed by the family of former Chief Justice Rana with the police demanding additional security. “The family has also sent a request to the police office for more security. He said, “After questions were raised about his security, he was rescued to provide security.”‘

Kathmandu The Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Jabra from his house in Maharajgunj on Saturday night. He was later released on Sunday afternoon .

Rana had been serving as the Chief Justice since Pous h 18, 2078 and was suspended after the impeachment motion was registered in the parliament on February 14, 2021.
