Kathmandu. With the festive season approaching, the number of shoppers in various open markets including Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu has increased. The number of customers visiting the market to buy new clothes and essential items for Dashain has increased as compared to other times. The traders of Bhrikutimandap have been busy as the number of customers buying new clothes for family members, relatives and children for Dashain has increased.

Ashok Khatiwada, a trader at Bhrikutimandap, said that the flow of customers has increased with the beginning of the peak time for shopping for Dashain.

According to him, the number of customers in the market has started increasing in the last few days. He said that the number of customers buying clothes especially for children, youth and senior citizens has increased significantly. “The number of customers buying clothes is increasing day by day as Dashain is approaching. Since this morning, there has been more activity in the market than before. “, he said.

Another trader, Shyam Prakash Adhikari, said that the business of clothes increases during the festival season as there is a Nepali tradition of wearing new clothes during Dashain. According to him, with the increase in the number of customers, it has become difficult to show the goods to the traders, choose clothes according to the customer’s choice, tell the price and manage the sale. “The number of customers has increased from today as compared to other days. We expect more customers as Dashain approaches. “, he said.

The presence of customers buying clothes, shoes, slippers, children’s items and various items of daily use has increased at Bhrikutimandap for Dashain. Traders say that the number of shoppers in the open market has increased as different types of goods are available in one place and customers can choose goods according to their budget. Traders say that during the festival, cheap markets are preferred for families with limited income.

According to them, clothes and other goods are available at a cheaper price in various open markets and roadside shops in the Kathmandu Valley and roadside shopping malls.

Sangita Neupane, who has been selling clothes on the street at night in Sundhara, also said that the number of customers has increased as Dashain approaches. According to her, customers pay attention to both price and quality as they have to buy clothes for all the family members during the festival. “Clothes and other items are cheaper in the street and open market than in shopping malls. That is why the first choice of customers is the open market and the night shop in the street market. ” said Neupane.

With the gradual change in the weather along with Dashain, customers buying clothes required for the cold season have also started appearing in the market. Hari Krishna Kandel, a businessman, said that the number of customers buying jackets, sweaters, tracksuits, hoodies and other warm clothes is also increasing.

Traders are expecting to see more flow of customers to Bhrikutimandap, Asan, Indrachowk, New Road, Sundhara, New Road, New Road and New Road among other markets in the Kathmandu Valley as the Dashain and other festivals are approaching.

Traders have also increased the stock of various types of goods targeting Dashain. They say that according to the demand of the customers, different designs, colors and prices of clothes for children, women and men have been kept in the market. Customers choose goods according to their budget and taste. Traders hope that the hustle and bustle seen in the market will have a positive impact on the business as Dashain approaches. Traders believe that the pressure of customers will increase further in the coming days as the Dashain shopping season is still pending.
