Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has stated that as domestic and foreign investment increases, job creation and labor security will also be guaranteed.

Speaking at a business and human rights discussion program held in Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday, President Dhakal said that the increasing growth in production and productivity will create an environment that protects the rights of both investors and workers.

Similarly, he stated that all sectors cannot move forward without providing opportunities for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to thrive. He emphasized that the government and development partners should pay attention to the rights of small entrepreneurs.

Likewise, he emphasized that all sectors should work together to formalize the informal sector and the workers employed there. Informing that a strategy is being developed for formalization, President Dhakal stated that everyone should take the initiative for sustainable economic development.

President Dhakal also stated that the FNCCI is sensitive to human rights issues and is willing to attract investment by encouraging responsible business practices.

Furthermore, he informed me that Nepal has recently amended eight laws related to investment and approved a bilateral investment treaty framework to improve the investment environment, adding that the investment environment is continuously improving. He urged investors to invest in Nepal.
