Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has ordered the government not to destroy the mobile phones of the students. A single bench of Justice Shreekanta Poudel on Wednesday issued an interim order against the government not to destroy mobile phones found in the examination hall.
In Siraha, mobile phones and smart watches seized from students during the Class 12 exams were destroyed by submerging and mobile phones in the water.
Advocate Anil Kumar and other advocates AnilKumar had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court challenging the destruction of goods worth over Rs 10 million (7 iPhones, 489 Android phones and 5 smart watches) (7 iPhones, 48 9 Android phones, and 5 smart watches).
The writ petition had demanded action against the officials involved in the destruction of mobile phones and order compensation to the victim students. In the petition, the Supreme Court issued an order not to confiscate the mobile phones of the students and destroy them. And why should the order not be issued as demanded in the writ? The court has given 15 days to respond to the issue.
After the destruction of the mobile phones of the students, the students and parents of the students are now agitating . They have sought compensation for their mobile phones and watches that were damaged .
