Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ramesh Rijal, has said imports-based economy would never take the country towards the path of prosperity.

Underlining the need of increasing domestic production and the consumption to downsize the volume of imports, the Minister was of the view that production-oriented economy was the path towards the destination of prosperity.

He said this while addressing an inaugural session of the fourth National Convention of Nepal Beauticians Association in Birgunj today.

The Minister who is also the Nepali Congress central member was of the view that over ambition among political leaders and cadres would weaken the democracy.
