The Nepal Rastra Bank has directed banks and financial institutions to make their services and facilities accessible to differently-abled individuals. In a notice released on Tuesday, the central bank has instructed banks and financial institutions to give priority to senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and illiterate individuals by easily providing banking services. For this purpose, the central bank has also given instructions to have special counters in banks and financial institutions to provide services.
Similarly, the central bank has also directed banks and financial institutions to establish at least one branch in locations where there are more than five branches locally and at locations where there is an ATM lounge to make them accessible to differently-abled individuals.
Along with this, the central bank has also instructed banks and financial institutions to provide services such as ATMs, mobile banking, internet banking, etc. to individuals with disabilities, ensuring that they are able to use these services independently.
