Kathmandu – Both Tulsipur and Ghorahi sub-metropolitan cities in Dang district have sent circular to all wards to put forward development and construction activities. Majority of workers would get employment with resumption of development activities that were obstructed due to lockdown.
Spokesperson of Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city, Nabaraj Lamichhane, shared that many workers would get employment with bringing development and construction works back to business. Most of the municipals of the district have not been able to spend 30 per cent of the capital budget. So, both the sub-metropolitan cities have put forward a plan to provide ‘employment’ to relieve daily wagers as well as people facing problem for two squares of meal.
Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city and Tulasipur sub-metropolitan city have come up with a plan to provide respite to daily wagers by establishing ‘Labour Bank’ under Prime Minister Employment Programme. Both sub-metropolitan cities have already distributed first-phase of relief.
The sub-metropolitan cities have forwarded the employment programme after they could not sustain the inflow of people seeking relief. Spokesperson of Ghorahi sub-metropolis, Bharatmani Aryal said they have decided to depute workers in development and construction activities by maintaining physical distance. Mayor of Tulasipur sub-metropolitan city, Ghanshyam Pandey, shared that the sub-metropolis has established labour bank to address the relief in a different way
