A fire has broken out at a cotton factory at Bhadrapur-5 Jhapa Chowk in Jhapa. The fire has caused a loss of Rs 1.2 million. The fire broke out at a cotton factory run by Ram Chandra Sahani of the same ward on Tuesday evening, said Rakesh Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Jhapa.
According to him, the machine caught fire due to stones mixed in the cotton while crushing cotton in the cotton industry. The fire completely destroyed a cotton crushing machine and 57 bags of ready-made cotton. The fire was put out with the help of locals, police and fire brigade of Bhadrapur Municipality.
