Massive Corruption Unveiled: National Payment Gateway Scandal Involves 2.23 Billion Rupees

KATHMANDU

It has been found that there has been corruption of 2.23 billion in the purchase of the National Payment Gateway. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against seven individuals, including the Secretary.

The individuals accused are Madhu Kumar Marasini, Secretary of the Ministry of Industry; Pranita Upadhyay, former Executive Director of the National Information Technology Center; Sunil Poudel, Managing Director of Nepal Telecom; and Sanjay Sharma, former Executive Director of the National Information Technology Center (NITC).

A case has been filed in the Special Court against seven individuals, including the purchase of the gateway, with a conclusion of corruption of 23 crore 27 lakh rupees on Monday.
