The total public debt of Nepal has reached close to 24 billion. According to the data until the end of the current fiscal year 2080/81, Nepal’s public debt (government debt) has reached 23 billion, 86 billion, and 77 crore rupees. Until the end of the last fiscal year (up to Asar month), Nepal’s public debt was 22 billion, 21 billion, and 67 crore rupees.
In other words, in just the last 7 months of the current fiscal year, Nepal’s public debt in the name of the government has increased by 16 billion to 10 billion rupees.
According to the latest data on the government’s public debt, there is an equivalent debt of 82 thousand rupees per Nepali citizen. This debt has been calculated by dividing the total public debt of Nepal, as per the National Census 2078, by the total population of Nepal, which is 29 million, 91 thousand, 64 five hundred 78.
The public debt up to the month of Magh is approximately 44.35 percent of Nepal’s total household production ratio.
