The statue of Parshuram, which was stolen from the Pashupati temple premises, has been found in Belgium. The statue, which was stolen 40 years ago and dates back to the 11th century, was found in a private collection in Belgium.

The statue, which was found in Belgium, was sold in an online auction called “Kataviki Auction” in November 2020, organized by the “Last Arts of Nepal” campaign. According to the campaign, the statue was stolen from the Rudrageshwar area of Pashupatinath around the year 2040.

In 2017, King Mahendra formed the Immediate Conservation and Development Committee for the protection and development of many monasteries and temples in the Kathmandu Valley. At that time, the statue of Parshuram was also undergoing maintenance. However, the statue of Parshuram suddenly disappeared in 2040.

The statue, which has now been found in Belgium, was identified based on the address of the auction house in Belgium, where it was purchased by a property-loving student living in Bangkok, according to the “Last Arts of Nepal” campaign.
